QNET Ghana: 5 Cool Facts About the Company

Since 1998, QNET has been a steadily growing direct selling business that now has a global presence. With a solid business model and a unique variety of products that help people live healthier lives, it’s no wonder that QNET has expanded rapidly in the past two decades.

1. Awareness Through Events and Expos

Over the years, QNET organised several product exhibitions in different parts of Ghana to create awareness about the unique products and business model. This includes the first-ever Absolute Living Expo organised by QNET Ghana in 2018.

The event was attended by many stakeholders, including government agencies, along with the general public. Speaking of the event, Chief Director of the Ministry of Business Development, Mr. Joe Tackie, said, “We are glad to have QNET in Ghana for the long haul. We are also very glad that QNET’s business module supports entrepreneurship…we believe that Ghanaians will benefit immeasurably from the health, nutritional and entrepreneurial exploits QNET is introducing to Ghana.”

The second Absolute Living Expo in Ghana was just as successful. Many passionate and enterprising Ghanaians along with media and other stakeholders attended to learn more about QNET’s products. The event also took place around World Water Day and QNET took the opportunity to continue to raise the importance of access to clean and safe water as a universal human right.

2. Community and Stakeholder Engagement

These expos and events do more than simply help educate people, they also create connections. At these events and beyond, QNET regularly engages with the media and government stakeholders to discuss direct selling and how it offers entrepreneurship opportunities for youth.

Speaking at the first Absolute Living Expo in Ghana event, The Head of SME, at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Mr. Sampson Abankwa said, “QNET’s entrance into Ghana is opening the space up for more entrepreneurial opportunities for the youth and Ghanaians in general.”

This engagement ensures that Ghanians truly understand the potential benefits of direct selling and how QNET Ghana stands out against other opportunities. The Chairperson of the Technology Sector of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Mr. Samuel Anim-Yeboah has said, “The use of technology as an enabler in the business module of QNET is a good pointer that the opportunities provided by the company could be accessed by everyone, anywhere in the world.”

3. Calls to Regulate Direct Selling

There are still many misconceptions about direct selling across the globe. While some countries have strict regulations for direct selling companies, Ghana was not one of them. The lack of understanding of direct selling in Ghana led to some confusion between stakeholders and industry players, and, at worst, exploitation of some Ghanians.

To help remedy this, QNET called for legislation to regulate direct selling in Ghana. This is in addition to carrying out internal investigations to block dubious agents and, in extreme cases, arrest culprits who misrepresent and exploit QNET and the business that comes with it.

4. Award-Winning Anti-Scam Education

We understand that QNET business in Ghana is still fairly new. This means that many individuals and independent representatives still do not understand what the company does and, unfortunately, opens the door for many scams.

With this in mind, QNET launched the Mama Campaign in Ghana and across sub-Saharan Africa to educate the public about our business and highlight red flags associated with a scam or Ponzi scheme. The campaign concept is inspired by the African mother who disapproves of bad behaviour while guiding and correcting with the right information and values.

“We felt we could tell a powerful story about the right way to conduct QNET’s business while also being able to warn the public and people who promote scams on behalf of QNET,” says Biram Fall, Regional Managing Director for QNET in Sub-Saharan Africa.

QNET is legal in Ghana and creates genuine opportunities for individuals to earn additional income through the sale of products for commission. The anti-scam Mama Campaign was recently recognized by MUSE for its clever approach to informing the public about a serious issue.

5. Giving Back To The Community

At QNET, our founders have always advocated the need to work toward a goal that extends well beyond just financial success. These ideals have grown to become the lifeblood of the RYTHM Foundation, the social impact initiative of the QI Group.

The name of the foundation is an acronym for Raise Yourself To Help Mankind, and these are words we live by. The RYTHM Foundation invests in the communities in which we operate through strategic partnerships, employee volunteering, and community service.

In Ghana, specifically, QNET has invested in child education (including seeing- and hearing-impaired children), sports development, government agencies support, COVID-19 support, and other areas. QNET is also active in sports partnerships with Manchester City Football Club, the English Premier League Champion, and Africa Football Confederation (CAF) for Total/CAF Champions League, Total/CAF Confederation Cup, Total/CAF Super Cup.

These outreach efforts have been recognized by the Centre for CSR, West Africa. In 2018, QNET was adjudged the CSR e-commerce Company of the Year at the Ghana Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Awards (GHACEA). QNET is proud to join the list of notable socially-responsible companies in the country.

A couple of other community development projects conducted by QNET Ghana branches include:

  • Providing Kindle e-readers which were pre-loaded with 100 culturally-relevant books each for students in impoverished areas of Ghana. This helped address one of the fundamental challenges of education in Ghana: access to books to stimulate learning and reading among young people in the country.
  • Donating much-needed medical supplies and equipment to Ghana Police Hospital at Cantonments in Accra. These medical equipment and items are to help the hospital cater for the healthcare of patients during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
