Manchester City v/s Burnley

Manchester City’s first fixture of the month is an away game against Burnley. The Clarets are firmly rooted in the relegation zone and could well face a tough upcoming month. On the other hand, City would be expecting themselves to win the fixture comfortably. They have been clinical in recent times and finishing off games in great style.

Manchester City versus Liverpool is one of the most awaited fixtures of the year. The top of the table clash is between title rivals who’ve shared the honours four times in the last four years. City has been crowned Champions three times, while Liverpool ended its long wait for a title in the 2019/20 season.

In this exciting clash, the best teams in the league go head-to-head one more time. The last time the teams met, it ended in a 2-2 draw with exceptional performances from both teams. Sadio Mane put Liverpool in front just before 60 minutes on the clock.

City responded immediately with the club’s rising star, Phil Foden. Gabriel Jesus made a decisive run through the Liverpool defence before passing the ball to Phil Foden on the left side. Phil Foden took a touch before unleashing a powerful shot past the Liverpool keeper.

Mohammed Salah restored Liverpool’s lead with a sublime individual effort. But City was not going to back down. Kevin De Bruyne was in red-hot form after scoring a sumptuous shot from outside the opposition’s box. Overall, this will be one of the most entertaining games of the season!

These two teams have gone head-to-head in the past few years. With Liverpool closely following City to the finish line, this game could well determine the fate of the title race.

Manchester City v/s Wolverhampton Wanderers

After struggling mid-way during the season, Wolverhampton Wanderers have been in great form in recent matches. Manchester City’s visit to Wolves at the Molineux stadium could be a crucial fixture. Wolves have been a tough opponent for City in recent years. City managed to scrape through with a 1-0 victory in the most recent match between the two sides, thanks to a Raheem Sterling penalty.

In the last five games between City and Wolves, City has been victorious on three occasions, while Wolves have won two. City has usually found the away game against Wolves challenging. They will be depending on their star players to step up and make a difference. Mahrez and Sterling are pivotal to this fixture as they can help City with their finesse and wing play. Manchester City v/s Leeds United

Rodri running with the ball in a game against Leeds United in the Premier League

Manchester City ends the month with a visit to Leeds United. Leeds are often known for their quick counter-attacking football. They were well-marshalled by Marcel Bielsa before going through a tough run of fixtures that led to the club appointing a new manager. Since then, they have been slowly recouping and finding their form.

When City played Leeds the last time, they were completely outplayed by a City side brimming with confidence. City put seven past Leeds United with some of the most clinical finishes of the season.

City scored early in that game with Foden. The talented mid-fielder stroked the ball past Leeds United’s keeper after he had made an initial save from Rodri. City quickly doubled their lead with star summer signing Jack Grealish. Mahrez cast one of his signature crosses into the box. Grealish rose high before guiding the ball into the net.

The third goal didn’t take long as City were in cruise control. Kevin De Bruyne was on target after latching onto a through ball from Rodri. City scored the fourth after the stroke of half-time. Mahrez got on the score sheet with a side-footed effort from inside the box. The ball took a slight deflection before making its way past the goalkeeper.

The fifth goal was the best of the lot. Kevin De Bruyne let fly a wondrous strike from well outside Leeds’ box. Kevin De Bruyne took a touch and rifled the ball in the top corner. It was one of his best strikes of the campaign.

Stones scored the game’s sixth goal after being denied twice by the Leeds keeper before the ultimate shot. City rounded off the scoring with Ake, who scored on his return to the lineup from a corner. Foden delivered an out-swinging corner. Ake rose the highest and headed the ball into the corner.

Leeds would certainly be looking to ensure that they can get a better outcome from their next game. On the other hand, City would be hoping to recreate the amazing display from December. On the whole, this fixture is balanced well to provide spectators with entertaining football.
